3 DAYS HIKING MOUNT MERU ($680 Per Person)

For those whose have time limit can take just 3 days and 2 nights climb the hole things to the socialist peak using the same route up and down the difference is the long way walking distance from Miriakamba Hut to the Socialist Peak and back all the way to Momella Gate which is exit gate tourist must have a prior muscle work experience, before you decide to book this package otherwise take 4 days is highly recommended.

DAY-1 : MOSHI TO MOMELA GATE THEN MIRIAKAMBA

In the morning after breakfast you will departure Moshi and drive to the Arusha National Park Momela gate, home to the Mount Meru 4560m. After tourist and team arrived at the Momela Gate tourist will make the registration, ready to get in Mountain

Here it will take a little bit time before the team of Guides, Chefs and Porters, start trekking, because they have to sort out each and everything to be used in the mountain for four days, The average maximum time is 0ne hour up to 2 hours depend to the number of tourist, in that day and thereafter they will call you ready to starting our hiking to mountain.

MOMELA GATE TO MIRIAKAMBA HUT

Our hiking start right from Momela gate at weighing point and as we departure from Momela gate including the Army ranger in our group, it may be the private ranger or mixing up with other tourist at that moment and soon we will start the hike in rainforest zone, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, Columbus monkeys, zebras, buffalos, giraffe, elephants and many more as we walk uphill way up to Miriakamba hut 2500m.

DAY-2 :MIRIAKAMBA HUT TO SADDLE HUT

Beautiful morning has come with the giraffe around the camp, Today team and tourist will start ascending up the steep trail along the ridge of the saddle. Possibly apart from giraffe we will able to see different wildlife along the tail.

The trail has views of Mt. Meru Crater and the Ash cone. When you arrive at camp, you have the option of hiking Little Mt. Meru (3820m) for acclimatization ready for summit later mid-night and a scenic view of the ‘Roof of Africa’, Mount Kilimanjaro.

DAY-3 : SADDLE TO SUMMMIT TO SADDLE THEN M.GATE

Today is very long day and more challenging about 23kms walking and 16 hours in total, in short our day start very early at around 1:30 a.m. to climb steeply to Rhino Point 3,800 m. to the Cobra Point 4350m. then we will reach the summit 4,566m.

During the time for sunrise there is a possibility to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridgeline between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater.

SUMMIT SADDLE HUT BACK TO MIRIAKAMBA

After enjoyed the beautiful moment at the summit of mount Meru we all feel the hero and it will be our time to proceed back to miriakamba hut, The day is longer then we will be break for our lunch after lunch then proceed back to momela gate, there is more views of wildlife as much as we are going downhill from the mountain. ready to get back to Moshi.

Soon after a lunch break, We take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with a highly possibility of seeing wildlife such as buffalo and giraffe before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. The returning transfer will be waiting at Momella Gate to pick us up to Arusha/Moshi as you request.
