SHORT BRIEF ABOUT THE RONGAI ROUTE 6 DAYS

The Rongai Route is the of the easier route way up to Kilimanjaro and only route approach on the north side of the mount Kilimanjaro and makes almost a complete experience north to south side of the mountain, this means we start climb Kilimanjaro from Rongai gate and descend to the Marangu route ,two deferent route in the same trek, Note that; Rongai route is the route cross near Kenyan border, this side is bordered by Kenyan national park called TSAVO, so that is possible to found the big animal like buffalo and elephant some time simba (lion) that cause the first camp to be called simba camp the lion were several time found there long time ago.
Rongai route provide gradual ascent which allows the tourist to be able to acclimatize to the new altitude and enjoy beautiful scenery from mawenzi peak 5151m , the second highest point of Tanzania. As the tourist you have the optional to select six days or seven days according to your vocational but due to our experience , please we would like to recommend seven day is preferable to be sure , it will give you more time to acclimation and excellent training before to attack summit 5895m

HIKING MOUNT KILIMANJARO THOUGH RONGAI ROUTE

By the time you arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be picked up with our driver and transferred to the hotel where you will have rest and relax or explore Moshi town and the surrounding areas on one of our day tours, visiting the local market known as market for everyone, Moshi city center and some little biking, the choice is yours. If you’re in Moshi do not worry we will follow you ready for our itineraries or we will come to transfer you to our selected lodge ready for short briefing about our itineraries

FIRST DAY MOSHI TOWN TO RONGAI GATE TO SIMBA CAMP

In the morning after breakfast you will departure Moshi and drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Rongai gate, home to the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro 5895m. After we arrived at the Rongai Gate you will make the registration, ready to get in Kilimanjaro. Here it will take a little bit time before the team of Guides, Chefs and Porters, start trekking, because they have to sort out each and everything to be used to Kilimanjaro for hole days seven days Rongai route. NB it will be also the good time to have your lunch out there before we start our trekking to Kilimanjaro first day.
The average maximum time is 0ne hour-2 hours depend to the number of tourist , in that day and thereafter we will call you ready to go and starting to realize the climbers dream way up to stand at the highest point of Africa (UHURU PEAK 5895M.).

After registration and once the team is ready for the hiking, we will call you to start point our hiking through Rongai route crossing over the thick forest of pine plantations then we will start our natural rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, Columbus monkeys and the appearance of flowers such as impatiens kilimanjari and impatiens pseudo viola introduce some bright colors to the scenery.
There is a possibility of rain in the forest, which will transform the trail into a, muddy and slippery experience so gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts should be sufficient, but keep your rain gear and warmer clothing handy. Note that; the possibility to see the big animal such as buffalo is high, if not in the walking may be later during evening or night time After get in Simba camp the team will prepare hot drinks such as coffee, tea, and chocolate drinks warm up your body and then waiting for the dinner.

Today our walk is easy and sill will be possible to found the big animal too such as buffalo , Eland and others . You will cross a plateau of grassy moorland and heather scattered with volcanic rock formations, will allows great views of the kibo peak 5895m and Mawenzi peak 5151m. The ever changing landscape will again surprise you with a different terrain; you will walk on ground where lava once flowed.
You will also pass the big Senecieo Kilimanjari that can grow more than 9 meters in high and other more strange plants like lobelia, gladiolas and wild protea kilimanjari, From the Second cave camp, we will be above the clouds, you will be rewarded with best views of the Kenyan side and beautiful landscape. This is a easy day meant for acclimatization, that will increase your chance to conger the highest point of Africa UHURU PEAK 5895M

THIRD DAY; SECOND CAVE CAMP TO THIRD CAVE CAMP

FORTH DAY; THIRD CAVE CAMP TO KIBO HUT

Soon after breakfast, the team will continue ascending today hike is a bit challenging way up to Kibo Hut but do not worry slowly, you will get there at kibo hut 4720m . Through the “Saddle,” area which refers to the area located between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo in an alpine desert. This area is very dry and there is no water at the camp, but worry out all the water you need it will be carried by the team.
After the Kibo hut an early dinner will be served so that we can rest before attempting the summit at the same night. As the guide we will brief you in detail on how to prepare for summit night and Get to sleep early by 19:00! In approximation.

FIVETH DAY; KIBO HUT TO GILIMANS TO STELLA POINT TO UHURU PEAK

Wake at midnight to a light breakfast, then prepare for your summit ascent. It would be very cold until you start descending, so you will need all of your warm layers. This is, by far, the most difficult part of the trek. Slowly slowly, or, “pole pole,” and an optimistic attitude will get you there! The goal is to climb all the way to Uhuru Peak shortly after sunrise. Leave at 12;00 AM, switchback up steep or possibly snow, and reach Gilman’s Point on the crater rim at 5,861 m Here, views of the fabled crater and its icecaps greet you.Note Tha;t this will be the most physical and mentally challanging part of your trek stay positive slowily you will make it

Please note that; avoid to stay longer at kibo hut after the summit 4720m still high and is possibly allow your body to be attacked by ams , 1-2 hours will be enough to stay then team will call you to the next shift to horombo 3720m .

SIXTH DAY; HOROMBO HUT TO MARANGU GATE

Climbers who reached Gilmans Point (5681m) receive green certificates , Climbers who reached Stella Point (5720m) receive green certificates and Climbers who reached Uhuru Peak (5895m) receive gold certificates. After receiving certificates, Driver with vehicle will take you back to the Hotel in Moshi, where it is definitely time for hot shower and celebration! Departure to the airport or safari tour.
